Poorly staffed. Bar staff serve you food.alcohol.and show you to your roomNice decor ground floor...upper floors tired and needing attention...not the hotel it used to be. Right in town centre should be buzzing but its not...people vote with their feet ?

Dirty and Loud compact room includes 32" flat screen Tv-the room is quite compact as advertised, there is a 32" TV with dirty remote control with poor batteries. takes a few hard pushes to get it to work. the room itself was very dusty, I ran my finger along the board surrounding the bed and was shocked by the amount of dust. these rooms do not have air conditioning as the website leads you to believe. there was a portable electric oil filled heater, and the windows open a tiny bit. complimentary Wifi-this was the best part about the room. WiFi was good work desk with lamp-Erm just no. I have taken pictures of this so called desk, I think this hotel need to look up the term "desk" because this certainly ws not a desk. As for the lamp... there is a lamp however it's on a very long cord hanging from the ceiling right next to the headboard of the bed. I hit my head off it a couple of times. it's not anywhere useful like by the desk. tea and coffee making facilities-yes if you only want 1 cup, not enough sugar or milk, we had to go and ask for more. only to be given a jug of milk with no way of keeping it cold hairdryer-yes it was hidden at the top of the wardrobelaptop safe-there was a cupboard for this safe however there was no safe en-suite bathroom with rain shower-ensuite bathroom, yes. Rain shower, no. its a normal shower. again the bathroom was dusty, had to rinse the bath before using it. only given 1 and a half a roll of toilet paper, thankfully we had wipes with usI would never stay at this hotel again. it was disgraceful. yes it was a budget room but at the very least you expect it to be clean. the pillows were flat. even though they provide 2 per person they were extremely flat and resulted in us both waking up with neck ache. they also provide ear plugs to block out the noisy nightlife, this on the scale of it, it wasn't so bad. it was the noise of people walking around above us and the constant noise from doors closing that kept us awake more than the nightlife.

The hotel that came to the rescue. Very good facilities and the warmest of warm staff...made me feel very welcome. Restaurant will never win Michelin points but it is good honest grub. Highly recommended if you are staying away on business. Close to station (5 mins walk).

Friendly and very efficient front desk staff. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a good shower. Quite noisy location, unfortunately. Especially on Friday evening when people are partying in the venues nearby. They provide earplugs in case you have troubles sleeping.

I stayed here last week for the murder mystery night. I was impressed to recieve a bottle of complimentary wine for my birthday which was a lovely touch. Within the party we had a few allergies which were dealt with without question (we had emailed allergies in advance). All food was serviced quickly and hot, the staff were very professional and polite. The bed was ginormous!!! The reception area and other areas throughout looks like its had a recent update. The buffet breakfast in the morning was fab and fresh. Displayed in smaller portions meant it wasnt sat on display going stale under the heat lamps and if any dish was empty it was quickly replenished with fresh food. For the price of a murder mystery package to stay over I was thoroughly impressed. Thanks for making my birthday so special.
