Appointments can be difficult, however, when I called and explained my problem to the receptionist I was given an immediate emergency appointment. The doctor was the only one and me only patient, clearly I was seen as a priority. After being examined the doctor sent me to A&E with a letter. He even asked me now I would get there. I ended up in DRI for 4 days. My advice would be to explain as best you can to the receptionist and they will do their best to help you.With regards to test results, you do need to call, however, if there is a problem they will let you know by letter which will also contain advice about further treatments. I am online and can access my test results within a few hours of blood tests taken at DRI. You need to work with your GP to get the best service, patients who miss appointments or see the doctor for coughs and colds are wasting GP time. I have always had excellent care at this surgery
Great doctor's, can always get seen if it's really urgent. Always referred for any other necessary treatment without any hassle.
What is the point of trying to ring the surgery when you are on hold for 15 mins for someone to answer and hang up on you, 4 times I have tried to get through today, and finally managed to talk to someone, takes an age to get any results back if at all and you dont have to chase them up yourself!! Useless!! Need to know about 2 weeks in advance if you are going to be ill or have an issue, need to step it up!!
