had a visit to thrybergh park with fiancee and her grandson. fed ducks and swans with bird food from their cafe. and then half an hour in kids soft play area. for 2.50 he had a great time. well worth a visit with small ones.*****
Lovely walk which takes around an hour. Good iv you have a dog or just want to get in shape. You can also now do open air swimming if you are brave enough and dont feel the cold.
Lovely place to go to for a little bit of peace and quiet with the wife! An opportunity to feed the swans, geese and ducks. Always got plenty of wild bird seed in the car (remember that bread is not good for Geese, Swans or Ducks (don't feed them with such please). Two Cafes on site so plenty of snacks and coffee/tea to choose from. Now the rub for me as a regular visitor 1.70 parking for the full day. We are never ever there for more than two hours (usually 45 minutes). It would be appropriate for the Council to allow us regulars to the park to have a season discounted parking ticket. Or free parking, after all don't we pay the Council enough in rates and Gov in taxes. Or knock it down to 1.00 parking for a couple of hours. Then charge more for all day! I do not expect Councillors in Rotherham to have much in regards to business sense (always been their failing) but if they took my suggestion on they no doubt would benefit finanically more!
Takes about an hour to walk around at a leisurely pace. There is a playground as well as a small indoor soft play, places to get coffee, food and public toilets. There are some picnic tables though these are near where the ducks expect to be fed so keep an eye on small children with food.
Excellent for a 1 and 3/4 mile walk round the lake. Lovely cafe for coffee and cake. Good dog walking area with plenty of bins
